Closet Closed ...temporarily

I love being a part of something as great as Charli's Closet! However, due to personal reasons, I will be closing the closet for a while. I will have it back up and running when the time is right again.

Hard Times

Hello Everyone!

I haven't meant to neglect my blog. But my family is going through some hard times right now. I will do my very best to get a new post on here in the next few days.

If anyone has any room on their prayer lists please include the Manley family! We could use them right now.

 

Faith

Just the same as many, my family has fallen on hard times. Financial woes, schooling for my child, etc. I have always believed in God, as well as prayer. However, today I was shown just how powerful they both can be. We are behind on a couple of bills, as are many others these days. To put icing on the cake, my van was totaled in an accident in which the other party was at fault. We were able to purchase a sedan on the LAST day my rental vehicle was covered. This was around 6 weeks ago. Three days ago, the transmission went out...out of the blue! So now we are without a vehicle capable of fitting my family, as well as behind on the bills, as I said earlier. Yesterday was my breaking point. Stress had gotten the best of me, and I had an emotional breakdown. I prayed God would help me find a way to solve the problem. I prayed that God would show me some light in the situation at hand, because I am not very good at hiding my emotions or my worries from my children. I prayed for a miracle. At this point, nothing short of a miracle would make me feel better. I prayed for my family and friends, as I always do.

Today, I wake up, have my coffee and make my children breakfast. My daughter, Charleston (3 yrs old), tells me that she loves me, no matter what. So I am already smiling from that. Then my son, Chase (2 yrs old), tells me I am the best Mom ever! I thought to myself, wow, they really know when to say the right thing! Then my husband, John, calls. He was blessed with 75 dollars this morning! Then my brother-in-law calls, he found a FREE transmission for my car (if it will fit)! I call my Mom to tell her the good news...SHE was also blessed this morning...with 25 dollars! So I just have to call my best friend and tell her about my day. She was a bit down, for the same reasons I was yesterday...well, a good Christian soul took it upon themselves to bless her and her family with the things which they were lacking! I couldn't be happier tonight as I settle in with my husband and kids, our full bellies and our amazing family and friends. And I couldn't be more thankful. Thank you God for all you have given me today. My faith and appreciation has grown more than I can express today. The power of prayer is strong, and, as proved today, nothing short of a miracle! <3

Update

Hello again everyone! I realize my posts have been a bit scarce, and I apologize. I am continuously working on Charli's Closet. Making new friends, friends that can help our cause. We have received several requests, and have FILLED them! This makes me extremely happy. I love knowing someone has benefited from what others could no longer use. We have helped a pregnant woman with no resources to otherwise get things for her unborn child. We have helped a family moving, who had nothing, fill their house to make it their home. We have helped SEVERAL children! So continue to smile, pray and love. Each day bears a new beginning. A new chance. A chance to make someone ELSE'S life better!

Twenty!

Charli's closet has been doing great! It has been a very busy last few weeks. We have already helped over TWENTY families! Keep donating! Those things you no longer use could make someone else feel amazing!

Busy, Busy

Sorry guys, I dont have much of an update for you today. I have been working around the clock and getting so much done though. But I have family coming down to stay this week so I will post again later this week.
Please keep us in mind when you clean out your closets!

The First Week

The first week of business was AMAZING! It was such a busy week trying to put the wheels in motion for Charli's Closet. We started a facebook page, created a blog, and had our first huge donations! 

Then today I got an outstanding offer from a church in Alpharetta! They donate to a charity every year, and this year they want to help Charli's Closet! Can you believe it. This is just our first week! I am getting in tough with the youth leader to explain my situation with storage, and lack of room for it. I also want to see if I can do a joint group effort with them, and donate to homeless shelters. 

I feel like Charli's Closet is already in such a great place and I can't wait to see the things yet to come!

First BIG Donation

Today I recieved my first big donation! It's exciting for me and gives me hopes for a sussessful venture. There are so many clothes! They are all lying here, on my floor, waiting to be sorted. So, here I go! There is a ton of stuff here, but most will be gone by the weekend. I am thrilled at the amount I was able to recieve, as well as thrilled about the amouunt of homes/families that will benefit from it!

Grand Opening

Welcome!

Today is the first day of my blog for Charli's Closet. Charli's closet is a non-profit  clothing donation closet. There are so many people out there having hard times that I feel that a local donation closet could really do some good! We will accept clothing and shoes of all sizes ranging from newborn to adult, excluding socks and undies unless they are new and in the packaging. So when you clean out your closets please keep Charli's Closet in mind!
